Each day includes a rich balance of active experiences and opportunities to reflect and communicate through writing. Nature awareness and sensory activities focus campers' attention on the world around them. Writing exercises guide them to express their observations and impressions in new ways. Sharing literature opens a dialogue about the writing we love. Group games build a sense of community and are just plain fun. There are thoughtful and reflective moments, and there's also plenty of playfulness, laughing, exploring, and more.

Last year's group taking a snack break on the shore of Wrightsville Reservoir, where we spent our final day of observing, exploring, and creating.

"[My daughter] loved it—came home every evening excited about something she had done or learned, or some new idea she had had. She said she wished there were a second week"
—a 2004 parent
